Posted: May 4, 2010 - It's all about the drama, the lights and not surprisingly the costume at the Met Ball - and this years runners and riders were no exception. Taking a peek at the snaps from last night, I'm noticing already that the looks I loved are not the looks that NY society have deemed winners - ah well, you can take the girl out of Blighty etc..
So here go's on the ones I loved for stepping up to the plate on the 'costume' theme...
Sienna can never fail & with Jude Law on her arm her Pucci look is perfectly accessorized
Loved this Marni clad gang sandwiching Sean Lennon
And this sparkly feathery duo in Naeem Khan and Jason Wu
Maggie Gyllenhall in Louis Vuitton was dramatic
As were Vera Wang and Viola Davis both in Vera Wang
Some chose the safety of metallics whilst others need to quite frankly quit the last century looks and get with the programe....
They were plain frightening.... Giselle needs to get the idea that it's not an audition for Dancing with the Stars
Rachel Zoe would benefit from eating a banana rather than looking like one...
And no matter how hard I try, I just don't 'get' Chloe Sevigny even though Mr Proenza & Mr Schouler certainly do.
SJP is boring me to tears with relentless flogging of Halston...
And Katy Perry maybe thought she was due to perform as she brought her own lighting show.
Poor old Kristen Stewart seems to loathe these things but still turn up and not quite manage to pull it off - perhaps the term 'stick to the day job' should be whispered in her shell like.
But hey, that's just my opinion - let me know what you thought....
